Superior Proven Technology

Prestone has always sought to offer the highest quality antifreeze coolant. We pioneered ethylene glycol antifreeze nearly a hundred years ago and that pioneering spirit is continuing into the future of electric vehicles. Today’s thermal management fluid is even more critical in an electric vehicle. Our CORGUARD® inhibitor technology increases an electric vehicle’s driving range and maximizes battery life by optimizing its operating temperature. It all comes down to maximizing performance.

Prestone rigorously tests our thermal management fluids. We design in-house, proprietary lab and bench tests to prove out technology before the vehicle even exists. Then we put our fluid on the road, running millions of real-time electric vehicle miles under real-life conditions. That’s why our thermal management fluid is factory-fill in over a dozen electric vehicles.

Increased MPGe

MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) is a standard measurement of fuel economy for electric vehicles comparable to the MPG (miles per gallon) used for gasoline-powered cars. Introduced by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2010, the MPGe metric represents the number of miles a vehicle can travel on a quantity of electricity equivalent to the energy produced by one gallon of gasoline.[1]

At Prestone we are engineering thermal management fluids that will help maintain the heat within a vehicle’s propulsion system (BEV and PHEV) at the optimum temperatures. Optimizing temperatures allows the vehicle’s battery and other components to operate most efficiently, which in turn reduces output requirements, thereby resulting in a greater MPGe. Better thermal management equals more miles traveled between charges.
